Tuesday Stats - A Little of this, A little of that...

So, my glasses broke yesterday while I was at work. I got an unbelievable headache from trying to work on the computer and do some paperwork. I went to the eye doctor to order new glasses. However, my head was aching so bad that I couldn't think or see to pick out new frames. I believe I am having separation anxiety from these frames. I have had them since high school.  Anyways, enough of that, here are my health stats from yesterday:

Breakfast: Raisin Bran with 2% milk: 230 calories
Snack: Broccoli & lite Ranch: 150
Lunch: Tuna Sandwich, baked chips, & fresh pineapple: 550
Snack: cantaloupe: 120
Supper: Pasta Noodles (not too healthy, but I was so sick I just ate what wouldn't make me nauseous): 575

Tuesday Total: 1675calories

Between tabby's injuries and my headache I did not get a chance to be very active...

My Poor Tabby Cat :(

Unrelated to my weightloss journey, but I just had to share.

My poor sweet tabby cat :( If any of you know my cat, Tabby, you know she is a loner. She is our "tom cat" of the yard. She very rarely will actually let us hold her, or even pet her. She is timid to say the least ( I think we have our lab to thank for that). Sometime during the night she got herself stuck in the pasture fence and completely tangled in a shrub. By the time we got to her this morning at 6:30 she was bloody and her foot was bent backward and lodged in the wires. We cut her loose and she walked away with her foot dragging the ground. Much to our surprise she went straight to the house. I followed her and she let me pick her up. I realized at that moment just how much pain she was in. She was so limber and calm. For her to let me hold her that close and comfort her is a very foreign concept to Tabby.  My mom and I brought her inside and began doctoring her up. I think that the circulation had been cut off to her foot. She lets us move it gently without crying, so I think she will be fine. For now, she is exhausted and completely worn out. She had a very rough night of struggling, I imagine. :( She has slept since 7 this morning and just now got up to use the bathroom. She is yet to drink or eat, but my dad says to give it time she is just exhausted.  She has two wounded feet, and a third that is sore. Her tongue is also cut, not bad - just bad enough to aggravate her. It seems the barbed wire she was stuck in won the battle :(

A nice start...

I have a happy report to share with you! (or atleast I think so) I was a busy bee today, but I did get to sleep a little later than normal. I got up around 7:30. I had a small bowl of raisin bran (230 calories) and then went lap swimming for 30 minutes. I was hoping to do 45min -1 hour but I had a mishap with a pair of goggles and they won. I have a nice war wound on my index finger to show for it.

Before I went in to work I had a turkey sandwich on wheat with a pickle. (250 calories).  I am about to eat supper. We are having grilled flat iron steak (380), homemade red mashed potatoes-eat sparingly(220), & sauteed green peppers, onions, & broccoli (75). If I get the late night munchies (which I likely will), I have fresh pineapple I cut this morning on stand by (145).

1300 calories for the daily. A healthy portion if I do say so. What do you think?

Kicking it off with a banana!

You guessed it, with banana in hand, I am writing my first post.  If I am to offer you any disclaimer to accompany this blog, it would be that I am a blogging virgin. In fact, I've never really followed many blogs other than the blogs that my FB friends have. With what little time I have spent in the blogging world I have learned that it is best to have a blogging purpose. A reason to blog, a topic, a mission, a goal if you wish. Not too hard, I definitely have a goal this summer. GET FIT! My health and weight has always been a struggle. This past year has been a real challenge working two jobs. 65 hours a week in the office does not leave much room for a healthy diet and exercise. Convenience has trumped health for entirely too long.

With that said, two summers ago I started what turned out to be a very successful weight loss summer. The key for me was aerobics and counting calories. I lost 43 lbs in a little over 3 months. Sadly, I gained all of the weight back over the past 2 years. Why? I'd say I turned in to "happy hips". I met my husband and became comfortable and happy. Therefore, I lost focus on all the hard work I had put in and put it all back on.  My plan is to count calories (yet again) and get in as much aerobic activity as possible. I will focus on toning as well, but for now I want to get the weight off. I can work on the six pack later.  I will be posting my daily menu, calories included. I will offer any advice and tips that I think of along the way for my fellow weight loss hopefuls. I have no doubt that I can do this. The most reassuring fact is that I have been successful at it before.
